“All the questions have now been discussed satisfactorily and the case is closed. The trial will therefore be rejected with prejudice.”

Sharpe initially called “false and disruptive” allegations when the trial was brought in April. The woman alleged that Sharpe engaged in the intentional infliction of emotional distress and then attacked it twice, once in October 2024 and in January 2025.

Sharpe moved away from his duties in ESPN on April 24, but undertook to return by the pre-season of the NFL. He also described the “Shakedown” trial and a “blatant configuration” by Buzbee and the accuser.

Sharpe’s lawyer, Lanny J. Davis, previously revealed a series of text messages which would have been the applicant, who, according to him, showed a consensual relationship. Davis affirms that the relationship involved “fantasy” and “role -playing”.

Davis published a long declaration, which Sharpe shared on his social media accounts. In the message, Davis shared sexually explicit messages.

Sharpe also published a video on X before Davis’ press conference in which he described the legal action of the accuser of “Shakedown”. He also mentioned that Buzbee planned to publish a sex tape published to support his client’s claims.

“It’s a shakedown. I’m going to be open, transparent and defend myself because it’s not good. All this is orchestrated by Tony Buzbee,” said Sharpe. “Tony Buzbee targets black men, and I think he’s going to publish a 30 -second clip of a sex tape that tries to make me guilty and play in all the stereotypes you might imagine.”

Buzbee published a statement after Sharpe’s video message and Davis’ press conference, confirming the latter’s remarks on the previous proposed regulations. He also denied that any video of the applicant was changed, saying that Sharpe’s claim was “obviously false, but also desperate”.

“An incredibly overwhelming video is indeed existed,” added Buzbee in his declaration. “The content of this video speaks volumes about Mr. Sharpe and his behavior. This video, which will be played at the jury, is extremely problematic for Mr. Sharpe. The Sharpe team, as I planned, revealed the existence of this video in an effort to try to get ahead. This effort will fall flat.”

Buzbee is well known for negotiating regulations for women who have accused Cleveland Browns, Deshaun Watson, sexual assault.
