President Donald Trump said the United States will send patriotic missiles to Ukraine while describing Russian President Vladimir Putin as a leader who “speaks well, then he bombard everyone in the evening”.

Trump made these remarks while the secretary general of NATO, Mark Rutte, plans to meet the president during a visit to Washington, DC on Monday and Tuesday. Last week, Trump revealed a new NATO agreement that would allow weapons to sink into Ukraine through the Allied nations.

“I’m going to have a meeting with the secretary general who arrives tomorrow. But we will mainly send them various very sophisticated armies. And they will pay us 100% for them. And that’s how we want,” Trump told journalists on Sunday.

“I do not yet agree on the number, but they will have it. Because they need protection. But the European Union pays it. We pay nothing for that. But we will send it, and this will be good news for us, we will send them patriots, which they desperately need,” added Trump in reference to Ukraine.

“Because Putin really surprised a lot of people. He talks well, then he bomb everyone in the evening. It’s a bit of a problem there, I don’t like it,” Trump also said.

Trump said last Thursday that in the new NATO agreement, “what we are doing is the weapons that come out, NATO, then NATO will give these weapons (to Ukraine), and NATO pays for these weapons.”

The judgment was conducted by the Defense Under-Secretary for the Elbridge Colby policy after examining American ammunition stocks that showed dangerously low reserves, politico reported in early July.
