President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived in Kerrville, Texas on Friday, following massive floods in the region that cost more than 120 people.
The Trumps are expected to meet local officials and first speakers who sail to the consequences of the sudden floods that have devastated the central community of Texas, after the Guadalupe river jumped more than 22 feet in a few hours.
Among those who died in the floods, there were at least 27 campers and camp advisers Mystic, a Christian summer camp founded almost 100 years ago for girls. Meanwhile, more than 160 people are missing and not counted in the county of Kerry, Texas, following the floods, according to officials.
The White House revealed on Monday that Trump would visit the flood site to attend devastation.
“I’m going to go off on Friday with the First Lady, and we will make a trip,” said Trump on Tuesday at a meeting of the cabinet. “And we don’t want to bother anyone, because you know, that’s what’s going on. The president leaves, and everyone is focused. I don’t want anyone who is focused on us, but they may have.”

The Trump administration was faced with a meticulous examination of the Democrats for his response to the disaster, in particular for a new policy that the Kristi Noem internal security secretary approved in June, before the floods, which forces him to sign department expenses, including expenses related to disasters, which are more than $ 100,000.
Noem would have waited more than 72 hours after the start of the floods before it approves the deployment of urban research and rescue teams from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), according to CNN.
Meanwhile, Noem rejected the credibility of the report during a “Fox & Friends” segment on Thursday, saying that the report was “Fake News”.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which oversees FEMA, told Fox News Digital that the agency had “adopted a hand approach on the bridge” to answer the crisis, when asked about the CNN report.
“The old processes have been replaced because they have failed the Americans in real emergencies for decades,” said DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin, in a statement to Fox News Digital.
Trump also defended the response of his administration and told the White House at a meeting of the Tuesday cabinet that “you had people there as fast as anyone ever seen”.
However, the disaster creates an uncertainty about the future of FEMA, because Trump called for massive reforms to the agency.

Trump said in June that he wanted to “wean Fema, and we want to bring him back to the state level”.
The white house press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the future of FEMA is a discussion in progress, when asked if the flood had encouraged Trump to re -evaluate his position on the overhaul of Fema.
“The president wants to ensure that American citizens still have what they need if necessary,” Leavitt told Reporterson on Monday. “That this aid comes from states or from the federal government, it is a political discussion that will continue. And the president has always said that he wanted the states to do as much as they can, if not more.”

Meanwhile, Noem praised FEMA’s efforts, responding to the disaster at the meeting of the cabinet, even if some legislators such as representative Jared Moscow, D-Fla., Called for an investigation into the reports of a delayed FEMA.
“Fema has been deployed, and we pass the documents of the old FEMA, rationalizing it a bit like your vision of the way FEMA should work,” said Noem. “It was a much better answer to help these families cross this terrible situation.”
