The passenger asked to spit Zyn on Delta Flight despite no clear policy

Smoking and vaping are prohibited on thefts, but it seems that the smoke -free nicotine pockets are authorized – according to the airline.
The pockets are allowed in handbags and recorded bags, according to the TSA.
However, with regard to the actual use of these articles on flights, airlines can determine their own rules for smoke -free tobacco activity.

American, United, Alaska Airlines, Southwest Airlines, JetBlue Airways and Spirit Airlines do not specifically define on their websites if passengers can use nicotine sachets, according to the most recent review of their sites.
Recently, a flight passenger called an airline in the “R / Delta” forum on Reddit for an experience with Chewing Zyn on board.

“I was told to spit my zyn on a flight. I really didn’t know it was one thing?” The user wrote.
“Delta Flight, first class (not that it counts). They released a cup and asked me to spit my Zyn.”
The user added: “They said it was because it was a tobacco product. I did not fight and I did not conform immediately.”

“I was just wondering if it was a FAA thing that I didn’t know?” asked for the flight passenger.
Redditors took the comments section to share reflections on the incident – and their own similar experiences.
“Probably because the way you had it in your lip, it looked like a box,” said a user.

Another Redditor argued: “Zyn is not a tobacco. You can have it in flight.”
“Tobacco or not, does that lead you to spit in a bottle or cup that could spread or be left in the pocket of the seat that someone else must clean?” said a person.

“So I would say that it doesn’t matter as you call it,” added the person.
A user commented: “He (is) authorized but be discreet. I see a lot of people using them on theft, including me, and as long as you don’t do it right in front of a FA, you are fine,” added the person.

A user said: “I was on a United flight a few days ago and the Shopping / Menu magazine in the seat file had in fact a Zyn announcement. He said something like” Flight Ready “.”

On the Delta “Transport Contract” section on its website, the airline specifies a non-smokers’ policy.
