The Jewish group slams the mayor candidate

A Jewish defense group exploded the Democratic candidate at the town hall of New York Zohran Mamdani for sharing a video making fun of the Jewish traditions of Hanukka on social networks.

The organization, Stop Antisemitism, says that Mamdani published the “sick” video on his X account last year. The video is from Geeta Brothers Duet Group, a satirical and comic duo which has disguised itself as a stereotypical Jewish costume for performance.

“Zohran Mamdani publishes Indian men cospaching the Jews, turning Dreidels and lighting the Menorah,” wrote anti -Semitism to stop in a declaration on X.

“Our holidays and traditions are sacred and not for your comic pleasure, Zohran Mamdani – it’s sick,” added the group, marking the town hall candidate.

Mamdani had published the video in December 2024, adding the legend “Happy 3rd Night of Hanukkah of Astoria and Long Island City”.

The video comes from the 2015 parody album “Punjabi Christmas album Hits” by Geeta Brothers.

Mamdani posted Another video of the same album the day before Christmas, this one based on “Jingle Bells”.

“I wish you all a very Merry Christmas from Astoria and Long Island City,” he wrote at the time.

Mamdani’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comments from Fox News Digital.

The charges of anti -Semitism have from the start of Mamdani’s campaign. The self -proclaimed democratic socialist has repeatedly refused to recognize the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state, and he supported the BDS movement against Israel.

“I believe that Israel has the right to exist,” he said during a primary debate by the mayor in June.

He then explained his opposition to Israel as a Jewish state in an interview with Fox 5.

“I am not comfortable to support a state that has a hierarchy of citizenship on the basis of religion or anything else,” he said.

Mamdani, a Muslim, also faced criticism to refuse to condemn the sentence “globalize the intifada”.

The founder of Stopantisemism, Liora Rez, argued last week that the election of the mayor of Mamdani would not only be “catastrophic” for Jewish residents, but all those who live in the city.

“If Zohran Mamdani was elected mayor, he would be catastrophic from the Jewish city in New York,” Fox News Digital told Fox. “And we were even further going where the citizens of New York in general, because of its very disturbing positions on socialism, would also suffer greatly.”
