Eminent Democrats sent messages of misfortune and sadness rather than celebration on July 4, pulling the anger of a multitude of criticism. Many messages included warnings about the threats supposed to the country from the Trump administration.

“This July 4, I take a moment to think. Things are difficult at the moment. They will probably get worse before they are improving,” wrote the former vice-president Kamala Harris in an article on X which included a photo of her and former first gentleman Doug Emhoff in the White House. “But I like our country – and when you love something, you are fighting for that. Together, we will continue to fight for the ideals of our nation.”

Many social media users quickly pointed out that Harris managed to bring out former president Joe Biden and the former First Lady Jill Biden on the photo. Others took one of Harris’ famous sentences to make fun of her, saying that the country was “tirelessly by what was”.

The former boss of Harris, former president Joe Biden, published a softer message, while also encouraging Americans to “fight to maintain” democracy.

Meanwhile, former President Barack Obama also struck with a warning of himself, saying that “the basic democratic principles seem to be continuously attacked”. He argued that the word “we” is the “most powerful word in our democracy” and used its first presidential campaign slogan as one of its examples.

Kamala Harris comes out of the knives against Trump in the first speech since his departure: “ absolute chaos ”

“The day of independence is a reminder that America is not a person’s project. The most powerful word in our democracy is the word” we “.” We people. “We will overcome.” Yes we can. America belongs to anyone.

XI Van Fleet, a survivor of the Mao cultural revolution, replied by saying: “We, people, bring back our country from those like you who despise America and work tirelessly to dismantle everything that represents.”

Senator Bernie Sanders seemed to support the anti-Trump movement “No Kings” in his post on July 4.

“On July 4, 1776, the Americans said: No to kings, no to despotism. On July 4, 2025, all over the country, the Americans said again: no to kings, no to despotism,” Sanders wrote.

In response, several social media users have stressed that, unlike a king, President Donald Trump was elected.
