Migrant shelters close at the national level while the American border crossings fall
The judge blocks the prohibition of Trump asylum intended for borders

In the United States, migrant shelters close in large numbers because the border crisis has decreased considerably.
In January, two shelters closed in the county of Pima, Arizona, according to the Arizona Daily Star. In San Diego, the Jewish family service closed its refuge in February, specifically citing policy changes such as the CBP One application which moves away in the context of its closure.
In Texas, the Migrant Resource Center based in San Antonio which opened its doors in 2022 closed its doors in February due to the diving of people who cross the United States, according to Texas public radio.

On the east coast, New York has closed 63 migrant shelters this year, according to Pix11And the Massachusetts fell to four shelters over 120 in 2024, according to NBC 10 Boston. The point of sale reported that 24 of the Massachusetts shelters closed their doors this week.
“President Trump put an end to the invasion of the extraterrestrials of Joe Biden and inaugurated the safest border of all time. Migrant shelters close because illegal foreigners are no longer released in our big country – it is the Trump effect,” said the assistant press secretary of the White House, Liz Huston, in a statement to Fox News Digital.
The White House also boasts that the treatment facilities along the border have closed, while customs and the protection of the United States told Fox News Digital in May that all its installations “with soft sides” in Texas, California and Arizona have closed.
“Due to the unprecedented decline in the apprehensions of illegal foreigners following recent executive actions of the president, the CBP is not part of temporary treatment facilities and on a soft scale where illegal foreigners were held in specific places along the southwest border. The CBP no longer needs them because illegal extraterrestrials are quickly recovered”.

“The American border patrol has the full capacity to manage the detention of foreigners apprehended in the permanent installations of the USBP. The workforce and the other resources dedicated to temporary treatment facilities will be redirected to other priorities and will accelerate CBP progress in operational control of the southwest border,” added the spokesperson.

In Mexico, there was also a reported drop in people looking to come illegally in the United States. The latest border numbers revealed that the figures remain significantly lower than they were compared to the Biden administration, because there were only 6,070 apprehensions of the southern borders in June by Border Patrol, and there was no outings in May or June. On June 28, there were only 137 meetings on the southern border, according to CBP data.
The comments of the White House come while the Chamber is in its closing hours to decide on the bill on reconciliation sustained by Trump, which includes major funding for the president’s border and immigration program totaling around $ 170 billion, according to Reuters.

Billions will go to immigration and customs application while the agency increases its expulsion efforts, including the objective of hiring at least 10,000 additional agents, according to the White House. Unsurprisingly, not everyone is on board with the immigration measures described.
