The objective of the world on the Middle East is apparently returned to the War of Israel-Hamas following the conflict with Iran which led to the historic strikes of the nuclear installations of Tehran. For more than 20 months, Israel has operated in Gaza after the brutal surprise attacks in Hamas on October 7, 2023.

Israeli defense forces (FDI) have been strongly examined by their war treatment, in particular with regard to damage to civil zones and the distribution of humanitarian aid. However, ret. British colonel Richard Kemp told Fox News Digital that Israel did everything he could to avoid civilian victims whenever possible. Kemp, who recently returned from a trip to Israel and Gaza, said that war was “very difficult” while Hamas continues to integrate among the civilian population or in tunnels.

“In my opinion, the FDI has done it very effectively,” said Kemp. “They killed a large number of Hamas terrorists. They destroyed a lot of Hamas infrastructure, including certain tunnels, but they still have a long way to go. The fight is not yet finished.”

In Kemp’s assessment, the fighting in Gaza will continue until Israel beats Hamas, which becomes a difficult task for an army actively avoiding civilian victims, which the former British officer said that he had witnessed “personally”.

Terror in Gaza: Hamas offers bonuses to kill us and local humanitarian workers, says the group

Kemp also told Fox News Digital that civil deaths in Gaza are “inevitable” due to the functioning of Hamas. He argued that this is part of the “main objective” of the terrorist group, which, according to him, is to bring the FDIs to kill as many civilians as possible so that they can achieve what they have accomplished, which is the difficulty of Israel, the isolation of Israel, and the condemnation of Israel – the accusations of war crimes and genocide – of which none are true “. He congratulated the FDI, saying that Israeli forces “did a fairly extraordinary job that no other army could probably maximize the destruction of Hamas while minimizing the death of civilians”.

On the ground in Gaza, Kemp had the opportunity to speak with civilians and to visit the aid distribution sites led by Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) in the United States and Israel. He said that the civilians who spoke to him were grateful for help and recognized the role that the United States, under President Donald Trump, played. At the same time, they hold Hamas responsible for putting them in “the terrible situation in which they are now”.

Asked about the criticism that GHF was confronted with the international community – in particular the United Nations – Kemp said that the organization worked in a way that suits the situation in Gaza. He argued that the UN is trying to apply a “standard model solution”, which does not work for Gaza, as evidenced by the amount of help stolen by Hamas.

“Some of them told me that it was the first time since the war, 20 months ago, that they really received free help,” Kemp at Fox News Digital told. He said that in some cases, Hamas would steal aid and sold goods at high prices that many civilians could not afford.

Kemp highlighted the need for other nations and major humanitarian organizations to support the GHF and noted the recent million dollars in funding that the organization had received from the United States

“No other country I know has contributed directly to the financing of the GHF, and they should do it because the GHF, not the UN, is the future of deliveries of assistance to Gaza,” Kemp News Digital said. He also recognized that the UN had a role to play, but added that it should be “in the interest of the inhabitants of Gaza, not the bureaucracy”.
