Hamas confirmed on Wednesday that it was “ready to accept” a cease-fire agreement with Israel, but did not approve a 60-day break presented by President Donald Trump on Tuesday.
The head of Hamas, Taher al-Nununu, said that the terrorist organization was “ready to accept any initiative which clearly leads to the full end of the war”. Trump has more and more pressure on Israel and Hamas to accept a cease-fire, but the details of such an agreement have still not been drawn up.
A delegation from Hamas is expected to meet Egyptian and Qatari mediators in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss Trump’s proposal, according to an Egyptian official.
Hamas previously declared that it was willing to disclose the 50 remaining hostages within the framework of a ceasefire agreement, although it noted that less than half of the hostages are still alive. In return, however, Hamas demands that Israel fully withdraw from Gaza and put an end to war.

Meanwhile, Israel said Hamas should go, disarm and go into exile from Gaza.
An Israeli official said that the last proposal provides for a 60 -day agreement which would include a partial Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and an increase in humanitarian aid to the territory. Mediators and the United States would provide talks to end the war, but Israel is not committed to this as part of the last proposal, the official said.
About 10 hostages would be published under the agreement.

Trump announced the ceasefire proposal in a declaration on Tuesday on social networks.
“My representatives had a long productive meeting with the Israelis today in Gaza. Israel has accepted the conditions necessary to finalize the ceasefire of 60 days, during which we will work with all the parties to end the war,” wrote Trump on Truth Social.
“The Qatari and the Egyptians, who worked very hard to help bring peace, will deliver this final proposal. I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this offer, because it will not improve – that will only worse. Thank you for your attention to this question!” He added.
