Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian promulgated a law adopted by the country’s parliament last week which would end Tehran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The legislation was approved in the days following the operation of operation Midnight Hammer, in which he struck three main nuclear sites in Iran: Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow.

The law stipulates that any future inspection of Iranian nuclear installations by IAEA must be approved by the country’s supreme national security council, According to Reuters. Iran argues that the IAEA has arranged on the side of the United States and Israel in the recent conflict. In addition, Tehran affirms that the resolution of the IAEA in early June paved the way for the strikes of Israel.

The head of the media, multimedia and the IAEA public awareness section and spokesperson Fredrik Dahl told Fox News Digital that the agency was still waiting for confirmation from Iran.

Nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran have been on break since Israel launched Operation Rising Lion. Iran then denounced if it would continue the talks, saying that the United States was accomplices of the actions of Israel. However, President Donald Trump seemed to hope that the two countries would return to the table, even after the historic strikes of the United States. On June 25, the president told journalists that the United States would speak with Iran the following week.

While Trump’s criticisms argued that the administration exaggerated the extent of damage to Iran’s nuclear sites, the parties involved in the conflict have apparently agreed to the state of the facilities. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei admitted that the sites were “seriously damaged” in an interview with Al Jazeera.
