First on Fox: A pair of republican surveillance Hawks degenerated a complaint on Tuesday concerning a district court judge who chairs one of the Trump administration affairs, alleging that the judge has a conflict of financial interests.

Representatives Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Darrell Issa, R-Calif., Chairman and member of the Chamber’s judicial committee, asked the court council of the first circuit court of appeal to investigate the judge John McConnell, according to a letter obtained by Fox News Digital.

McConnell, a person appointed by Obama, presided over a central funding freezing case in the Island Rhode provided by 22 states with the Democratic Generals General. The case focuses on the order of the management and budget office in January that federal agencies implement a suspension of several billion dollars of federal services.

The States trial argued that the freeze freezing was illegal because the congress had already approved funds for use. McConnell agreed with the States and prevented the administration from suspending the funds, and the case is now sitting before the first circuit court of appeal.

McConnell wrote in an order in March that the suspension of funding from the Trump administration “fundamentally undermines the distinct constitutional roles of each branch of our government”.

The judge said that the frost had no “rationality” and has shown no “thoughtful consideration of practical consequences” because it threatened the “capacity of states to provide vital services, including, but without limiting itself, public security, health care, education, daycare and transport infrastructure”.

Issa and Jordan have said that McConnell’s longtime leadership roles with Crossroads Rhode Island, a non -profit organization that has received millions of dollars in federal and state subsidies, has raised the possibility of a violation of judicial ethics.

“Given Crossroads’ dependence on the federal funds, the decisions of judge McConnell had the effect of restoring the funding of the crossroads, directly benefiting the organization and the creation of a conflict of interest,” wrote Jordan and Issa.

Their letter was sent to judge David Barron, chief judge of the first circuit and president of the court council of the first circuit.

McConnell was quick to become one of Trump’s judicial nemes when he got involved in the financing freezing case. Its initial order blocking frost and subsequent orders to enforce its injunction and FEMA funds have fueled the criticism of Trump’s allies.

The group aligned by Trump America First Legal has highlighted McConnell’s links with the crossroads of Rhode Island for months thanks to its own investigation and its complaints on the first circuit.

Representative Andrew Clyde, R-GA., Filed the accusation articles against the judge in March, although the indictment as a solution for the judges with whom the Republicans challenge did not collect general support from the broader Republican conference.

Vocal Trump supporter Laura Loomer has targeted the judge’s daughter on social networks, and the CEO of X Elon Musk raised her grievance on her platform.

One of McConnell’s local newspapers, Providence Journal, described the judge as a “well -known” man in democratic political circles and an adult of politicians and democratic organizations before being confirmed on the bench in 2011.

McConnell included Crossroads Rhode Island and its members as a member of the board of directors in its recent annual public financial disclosure reports. No part in the case has actively requested its challenge at this stage.

An assistant for the judge did not respond to a request for comments.
