President Donald Trump visited the official opening of an immigration detention camp on Tuesday in the Florida Everglades which is surrounded by alligators nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz” and declared that officials could prioritize the deportation of the “worst of the worst”.
The installation of 3,000 beds is expected to become the largest detention center for migrants in the United States, built in the efforts of the Trump administration to expel the millions that flooded the country under the Biden administration.
The members of the Florida National Guard will be deputies as immigration judges, allowing migrants to have hearings within 48 hours, said Florida governor Ron Desantis, while internal security secretary Kristi Noem warned the illegal migrants to self-drive or risk being in the establishment.
“The worst part of the worst always first and I think it is a great government what we have done,” Trump said on the airport ramp shortly after landing Air Force One.

“No one can never forget what this group of people, Biden or who was. It was probably not even Biden, I don’t think he knew what he was doing. A small group of people surrounding the resolute office, which they did in this country.”
Trump praised the installation as “beautiful, so sure”, with alligators and police representing a hard image.
After shooting in the installation, Trump said that some of the most threatening “threatening migrants” take place there. “Some of the most vicious people on the planet,” said Trump. “We are surrounded by kilometers of treacherous marshes, and the only way out is really the deportation.”
Desantis authorized the construction of the illegal immigrant detention center on a sprawling property in the swamps of the county of Miami – Dade as part of an emergency order. It took eight days to build, will cost $ 450 million a year to operate and the state of Sunshine will be fully reimbursed by the federal government.

The installation was built on an isolated Everglades aerodrome at around 45 miles west of Miami. This image comes from an undated video published by the Office of the Prosecutor General James Uthmeier. (Office of the Attorney General James Uthmeier via AP)
The property is a former airport which has been equipped with robust tent structures to house the thousands of illegal immigrants. The detention center has reached its name due to its location in the heart of the Everglades, which houses massive reptiles such as alligators and pythons. Officials said the alligators could dissuade the escape.

Desantis, who flanked Trump with the secretary of internal security, Kristi Noem, said that the installation had been built using the existing concrete infrastructure of the airport, with temporary structures providing essential services such as beds, medical care and food preparation.
The governor said the center will be used to accelerate immigration cases.
“We propose that our national guard and other people in Florida be deputies to be immigration judges,” said Santis.
“We will have people here in this installation which can make (legal decisions) … Someone has an opinion to appear – Biden would tell him to come back in three years … Here, you can appear as a day or two.”

“”So we want to go through this so that we have an effective operation between Florida and DHS so that the withdrawal of these illegal is done. “”
Noem has recognized the collaboration between Florida and DHS, dealing with it as a potential model for other states.
“Florida was unique in what they presented to us, and I would ask all the other governors to do exactly the same thing,” said Noem. “It’s unique because we can hold individuals here. They can have their audiences. It is a process.”
She has also warned illegal migrants to self-driving or may be held in the high security installation.
“They don’t have to come here, if they have self-conformed and go home, they can return legally,” said Noem. “But if you wait and we take you to this installation, you never return to America. You don’t have the chance to come back and become American again.”

Environmentalists and Democrats have spoken against the detention center, including the disappearance along Highway 41, which crosses the Everglades, to protest its construction on Saturday. The demonstrators have held panels declaring: “Another stupid plan to abuse people and Everglades”, “no Alligator Alcatraz” or the demanding ice panels is pushed “outside the Florida”, show the photos.
Various federal and state agencies, such as the Ministry of Internal Security and the Florida emergency management division, were also concluded by a trial on Friday led by a pair of environmental groups which claim that the detention center will disturb and threaten the Everglades ecosystem, reported the Associated Press.
