President Donald Trump warned that the government’s efficiency department (DOGE) is a “monster that might have to go back and eat Elon”, after the technological billionaire Elon Musk intensified his attacks on “One Big Bill Bill” by Trump.

“Doge is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon. Wouldn’t it be terrible?” Trump said to the media on Tuesday morning by leaving for a trip to Florida Everglades to visit a new migrant detention center. “He obtains many subsidies. But, Elon was very upset that the EV mandate was interrupted.”

His answer followed a question to know if he would expel Musk, originally from South Africa. Trump replied, “I don’t know, we will have to take a look.”

Trump previously told the media in June that his relationship with Musk had changed when the president began to discuss the plans to eliminate the mandate of the electoral vehicle, which would affect Musk’s Signature Electric, Tesla. Trump signed a trio of conference resolutions on June 12, ending California’s restrictive rules for diesel engines and mandates on sales of electric vehicles, Trump celebrating that his signature “will kill California mandates forever”.

“When you look at him … Not everyone wants an electric car,” continued Trump in his remarks about Musk Tuesday morning. “I don’t want an electric car. I may want to have petrol. Maybe electric, maybe a hybrid. Maybe a hydrogen day. You have a hydrogen car, it has a problem: it explodes.”

“I think what will happen is that Doge will watch Musk,” said Trump. “And if Doge looks at Musk, we’re going to save a shotlune. Thank you very much, everyone. I don’t think he should play this game with me.”

Musk intensified his quarrel with the former near Trump ally this week in a political warning to the legislators he will work to dislodge them if they vote to support the “Big Beautiful Bill” by Trump.

“Whoever campaigned on the promise to reduce expenses, but continues to vote on the greatest increase in the debt ceiling in history will see his face on this poster in elementary school next year” Musk posted on x Monday evening.

The message was accompanied by an image of Pinocchio seated on fire and legend, “Liar voted to increase America’s debt by 5,000,000.00”

Musk was previously a special government employee with the Trump administration to help Doge Dire, frequently attended the office meetings and joined Trump in public events. Musk’s mandate with DOGE ended at the end of May, while negotiations on the “Big Beautiful Bill” intensified in the Congress.

The bill on budget reconciliation, if adopted, will advance Trump’s agenda on taxes, immigration, energy, defense and national debt. The legislation is currently in front of the Senate.

Musk found himself aligned with a handful of republican legislators, such as the Kentucky senator, Rand Paul, who spoke out against the legislation, arguing that this would increase the debt ceiling by $ 5.

Musk’s post threatening the primary republicans who vote in support of the legislation has been followed by a social message of Trump’s late evening suggesting: “Doge has a good, evil, how government subsidies help companies belonging to Musk such as Tesla and Spacex.

“Elon can get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon should probably close the shop and go home to South Africa. More rocket, satellite or electric cars’ launch, and our country would save a fortune. Trump posted after midnight on Tuesday.

The post continued: “Elon Musk knew, long before he taught me so strongly for the president, that I was firmly against the Mandate EV. It is ridiculous and has always been an important part of my campaign. Electric cars are good, but not everyone should have one.”

“ It is not an important factor ”: the allies of the Senate of Trump reject the calls of Elon Musk to “ kill the bill ”
