Marco Rubio has the first meeting with hostage families held by Hamas

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held his first official meeting in Washington, DC, with families of hostages still held by Hamas in Gaza in the middle of the terrorist group with Israel.

Rubio reaffirmed the Trump administration’s commitment to guarantee the release of the 50 remaining hostages, according to a press release from the Otages Forum and missing families.

The meeting featured Moshe Lavi, brother-in-law Ogage Omri Miran; Ilay David, brother of the hostage Evyatar David; Tzur Goldin, brother of Lieutenant Hadar Goldin; And recently released hostage Iair Horn, whose brother Eitan Horn remains in captivity.

The wife of Rubio, Jeanette, and her son, Anthony, were also in Reunion.

During the meeting, the secretary told families that the real victory in Gaza would only be achieved when all the hostages returned home, according to the press release.

He also noted that the US government has already demonstrated its ability to lead important initiatives in the Middle East. He also argued that Israel had won victories in Iran and Lebanon and is capable of defeating Hamas.

Families stressed that this is a critical opportunity window to bring the remaining hostages back to the house in a complete agreement rather than phases or partial agreements, as was the case in the previous Israel hostage agreements with Hamas, the press release said.

They expressed confidence in the Trump administration to act with urgency and determination to release other people in captivity in Hamas.
