Exclusive – The famous director of the brutal prison of Evin de Tehran, Hedayatollah Farzadi, escaped the enclosure before the Israeli strikes following threats to his life – and an alleged exchange between Jerusalem and his adult son.

The Israeli authorities would have contacted Amir Husseini Farzadi, telling him that if he had convinced his father to release political prisoners, his life would be spared in the imminent attack.

According to a series of Whatsapp messages shared with Fox News Digital by an Israeli Intel source, an agent asked Amir to tell his father to open the doors of the prison, warning that an attack would occur in “a few minutes”. Amir asked if something had already happened to his father, and the Israeli agent replied that it would not be – if he passed the message.

Farzadi, who has been director of Evin prison since 2022, is accused of having committed blatant human rights violations, including torture and murder of prisoners, many of whom are political dissidents. The allegations against him understand blows, famine, sexual violence against prisoners and murder. It was sanctioned by the United States and the European Union.

The American department for controlling foreign assets of the Treasury (OFAC) has appointed Farzadi within the framework of the list of specially designated nationals (SDN), which prohibits American entities and individuals from dealing with it.

“Many demonstrators were sent to Evin prison in the last series of demonstrations where they were submitted to tortures and other forms of physical violence,” wrote the Treasury Department in a declaration.

Before his stay at Evin prison, Farzadi spent 10 years working in Dizel Abad prison, where he “was known to organize public amputations of criminals that are guilty of minor crimes,” wrote the Treasury Department. The ministry also noted that during its mandate as director of the penitentiary of the Grand Tehran, also known as the prison of Fashafouyeh, Farzadi “supervised torture and mistreatment” of detainees.

In its April 2025 announcement of sanctions against Ferzadi, as well as other entities and individuals, the EU condemned “the use of the judiciary as a tool for arbitrary detention” in Iran. EU Also noted that Iran saw a “spectacular increase in the number of executions” in 2024, which included women, minorities and European citizens. However, the EU did not specify how many people executed were political dissidents.

“Freedom of opinion and expression, freedom of religion or belief, as well as freedom of assembly have been increasingly limited, and threatening measures have been taken against human rights defenders, journalists and political dissidents,” the EU wrote.
