The rescuers were looking for 43 people who disappeared in agitated seas on Thursday after night after a ferry carrying 65 people sank near Indonesia island in Bali.

The KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya sank almost half an hour after leaving the port of Ketapang by East Java on Wednesday evening, the National Search and Rescue Agency said in a statement. He was intended for the Gilimanuk port in Bali, a 30 -mile trip.

The ferry carried 53 passengers, 12 crew members and 22 vehicles, including 14 trucks, he said.
