4 horror novels, perfect for the drew of the size of a bite

Ah, the news of horror. A cry the size of a bite in your hands. Horror novels are one of my favorite genres. These are horror stories that are short enough to take a day or two to pass through, and yet the intensity is always as fierce as that of a novel – perhaps even more fierce with the shorter number of words and the execution of knife.
I described in some of my previous books Riot publish the differences between novels, novels and even shorter novels. To summarize: all three are longer than new, which is generally less than 7,500 words. Novels tend to be 7,500 to 20,000 words, novels from 20,000 to 40,000 words, and novels generally make up the rest at 50,000 or more words.
Thus, a news is shorter than a novel, but long enough to be published in a similar way to a novel. You might see novels with hard covers, especially larger publishers like Tor / Tordotcom. But the small presses were also particularly capable of preserving and publishing novels. An example is psychopomp, which has published my news. Small presses are a magnificent way to read gender bending and innovative work, because they are often more ready to take risks than some of the big names.
The news of horror is a fantastic way to get a fear of the size of a bite. If you are new in horror reading, or if you have a weak tolerance for horror, the novellas could be a way in the genre. Do not get me wrong, however: novels can always be as traumatic and terrifying as novels using horror, but you will arrive at the end much more quickly.

But not too daring By Hache Pueyo
I am a suction cup for all blue door stories. I swallowed them up, and when I read the synopsis for But not too daringI immediately ordered it. Hache Pueyo writes a beautifully terrifying story that follows the lady of the capricious house, Anatema, who killed the old keys and has a deep hunger for human brides. Have I mentioned that Anatema is also a giant humanoid spider?
Dália, the protégé of the old goalkeeper, must now take charge of locking the drawers of Anatema’s memories while determining the crime that led to the execution of her master. But Anatema cannot withstand a beautiful woman, and she will eat a bride on her way. Cue Sapphic Monster Romance!
Elendhaven’s monster by Jennifer Giesbrecht (July 2025)
This was initially released in 2019, and I was delighted to see him go out in the pocket book later this year. I have torn the advanced copy of the reader I had before its initial version, and there are many images of this book which haunt me to date.
It is a monster and a magician who love each other and who both like to murder. It is a wet and dark city that settles in its own disappearance, and the promise of darkness spreads further in the world. It is a queer love story and a dark fairy tale.
Which tracks the deep (sworn soldier # 3) by T. Kingfisher (September 2025)
If you enjoyed the previous books of sworn soldiers, which moves the dead and what is done at night, and you have done nightmares from the two like me, then I am sure that you cannot wait for the next episode of our favorite soldier Alex Easton. This time, Alex finds a new mystery in an American coal mine, and things will be just as scary as in previous books.
Don’t sleep with the dead By Nghi VO
If you are looking for something a little lighter on horror but always by teeming with ghosts, dark secrets and hauntings of the past, I give you the beautifully written Don’t sleep with the dead. This book is a new companion for VO Elected officials and beautifulwhich is a story of The Grand Gatsby. This news continues this story.
Nick Carroway cannot forget the summer of 1922, although he tried. Instead, he swings and looks at the crazy and magical show of the New York High Society. Always look. But then Nick realizes that someone also looked at him and that the past, including Jay Gatsby, has not finished with him.
