2 little -known dates could be the key to ending the government closed

With the government’s closure now on the fourth day and no compromise in sight, a federal expert on the budget says that two dates could send things “to become uncontrollable”: the first day, essential federal workers are without salary and the first day, members of the service are missing a pay check.

The next date of federal workers’ remuneration is October 10 and the next date of payment for the army is October 15, according to the Defense finance and accounting service And American General Services Administration.

Richard Stern, director of the Grover Mr. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget at the Heritage Foundation, explained that if the two parties blame the other for the closure, none wants to be responsible for essential government or the troops to be missed, which makes these dates at the heart of the end of the closure.

Stern explained that if the Democratic leaders are trying to blame the GOP for the closure, it was their decision to reject a bill for temporary spending that closed the government.

The Democrats insisted that any agreement to maintain the funded government must extend the tax credits for the Acting on Affordable Care Act (ACA) beyond the end of this year, a provision of the Republicans rejected.
